WhichBot Software

Software for robots you
can actually buy.

A robot is only as useful as what it can be told to do. Independent developers publish packages here — simulation work and developer tools — and robot owners subscribe to them directly.

Compatibility is never inferred from a matching product name. If we have not verified a package against a specific model, it does not appear on that model’s page.

Early access

The catalogue is open for developer submissions. No packages are listed yet, and nothing here can be bought.

The catalogue

No software has passed compatibility review yet

The catalogue opens as compatibility reviews are completed. Developers can submit a package for review.

What a subscription costs

Developers set their own prices. These are the standard bands, and a developer has to support the one they pick with a deliverable and continuing service.

Entry

$49 /month

A maintained tool with a working example, a stated environment and a support channel that answers.

Standard

$99 /month

Active maintenance against a moving target - new versions tracked, breakages fixed, buyers told.

Operational

$199 /month

Something a working operation depends on. Named support commitment and a maintenance owner.

Your price is fixed when you subscribe. If a developer changes their price, it applies to new subscriptions — yours does not change underneath you.

How a listing gets here

  1. 1 The developer submits it and names the exact models it supports, by model, not by brand.
  2. 2 We reproduce it ourselves. A paid package is installed and its stated example run in a matching environment, in disposable infrastructure, by a named reviewer. The publisher’s word is not enough.
  3. 3 It appears on those model pages only, with the date it was checked. Unchecked models say so rather than guess.
  4. 4 It gets rechecked every 90 days. Evidence older than that is marked out of date and new subscriptions stop until it is reconfirmed. Existing subscribers keep what they paid for.

Cancelling stops new releases, downloads and support when the paid period ends. Files already downloaded stay on your machine, and the package licence decides what you may keep doing with them.

Where the money is, and is not

WhichBot takes a 15% commission on the pretax charge and the developer keeps the rest. Some listings will be paid placements, and each one says so on the listing. Paid placement buys position in this catalogue and nothing else — it does not move a robot’s score, its ranking, or a word of its review. Those are set by our rating method and are not for sale. Hardware offers in the store are a separate thing from software subscriptions and are marked separately.
