For developers
Sell to people who
already own the robot.
People arrive at WhichBot having chosen a robot, or about to. If your software runs on that model, its page is where they will look for it.
You set the price. You keep the rights. No fee to be reviewed, no fee to be listed.
What you earn
WhichBot takes a 15% commission on the pretax charge. You keep the rest. Processing, billing and disputes come out of our side, not yours — your 85% is not then reduced by card fees.
| Your price | WhichBot 15% | You receive |
|---|---|---|
| $49/mo | $7.35 | $41.65 |
| $99/mo | $14.85 | $84.15 |
| $199/mo | $29.85 | $169.15 |
Tax is handled separately and is not taken out of your share. Your price is stored as a fixed price per published offer — changing it applies to new subscriptions only, and existing subscribers keep what they signed up for unless they consent to a change.
A subscription has to keep earning it
This is the one rule we will not bend. A monthly charge has to buy a continuing service, and the listing has to say what that service is. A package that cannot name one cannot be published.
That means things like
- 1Tracking a moving platform - new SDK and firmware versions tested, breakages fixed, subscribers told what changed.
- 2A maintained dataset, scene or model that is updated on a stated cadence.
- 3A support commitment with a response time you will actually hold to.
- 4A hosted service the package depends on, kept running.
- 5Compatibility reconfirmed on your side as new robot editions ship.
What gets refused
- A one-time download billed monthly.
- An unchanged file with a subscription wrapped around it.
- Compatibility claimed from a matching product name rather than tested.
- Anything that needs a vendor restriction bypassed.
- Redistribution you do not hold the rights to.
- Physical-robot control software. Not in this version, at any price.
- A simulation result presented as proof it works on real hardware.
What to send
- 1 The exact models it supports, or that it is robot-independent. “Works with humanoids” cannot be listed.
- 2 The environment, with versions. OS, runtime, SDK, compute. We reproduce it in exactly what you specify.
- 3 A reproducible demonstration and setup instructions a competent stranger can follow.
- 4 Rights and licence. A versioned licence, your distribution rights, and a dependency manifest with their licences.
- 5 A maintenance owner and a support channel with a response time, plus the continuing service the subscription buys.
- 6 What it does with data. Anything leaving the machine — camera, audio, home layout — gets stated on the listing.
What we build, and what we check
This version lists simulation and developer tool packages. Software that drives a physical robot is not accepted yet and is not a pricing question — it needs its own review and safety gate first. You keep your IP; you grant us only what we need to list, distribute and administer access. A paid package is independently reproduced before it goes live, and every behaviour-changing release is reviewed again. Compatibility is reconfirmed every 90 days — if it lapses, new subscriptions pause and your existing subscribers are unaffected.
We will not sell a robot score, a ranking position or review wording — see how we rate. Paid placement, where it exists, buys position in the software catalogue only, and the listing says so.
