| OUR TAKE | The sensible starter - real LiDAR mapping and a self-empty dock at half the money. Skips the mop theatrics and nails the daily vacuum job. | The mopping specialist - a self-washing ROLLER instead of spinning pads means it cleans with fresh water continuously. The pick when floors matter more than carpets. |

Q8 Max+ scores 7.4/10 in our independent evaluation; Deebot X8 Pro Omni scores 8.3/10. That 0.9000000000000004-point gap is real but not decisive — Q8 Max+ may still be the right fit depending on your use case.
Q8 Max+ is best for: Budget buyers who want real navigation, not roulette-bounce robots. Deebot X8 Pro Omni is best for: Hard-floor-dominant homes where mopping quality is the whole purchase.
Our scoring weighs five factors: autonomous capability, independent verification (third-party evidence scores higher than manufacturer claims), commercial deployment scale, price-to-capability ratio, and real-world availability today.
